We currently have 16 chickens at the Carpinteria Children’s Farm. We have four different types of chickens: Mallard, Jumbo Pekin, Crested Pekin, and Indian Runners. The kids love to play and hold the chickens. You will often see children doing their school work with chickens on their laps or running around and catching chickens. The children help to collect the chicken eggs in the morning. Then, families are able to give a donation and bring the eggs home to cook with!
